2009 Event

We had another successful Greenwing Picnic at the Greenhead Club in Pine Valley! Thank you to everyone: participants, parents, volunteers, and sponsors.

We enjoyed another day of raffles, silent auctions, youth shooting, BBQ lunch, fishing, and family fun!

The purpose of the event was to earn money for DU conservation efforts and to expose children to exciting outdoor experiences. We believe that goal was accomplished. The children had opportunities to learn about gun safety and how to shoot in a safe, controlled environment. Parents shared their children's excitement and wonder as they discovered a new sport or refined skills.

Again thank you for supporting such a wonderful cause. We look forward to another great event next year ... any volunteers?? :)

Wood Duck Box Installation

We installed wood duck boxes at Lake Cuyamaca! The kids had a blast, and it was a great opportunity for the kids to actually execute a conservation project! Way to go Greenwings!

Doing Our Part - For the Ducks

Please join us on August 18th to install wood duck boxes around Lake Cuyamaca! We are meeting at the Lake Cuyamaca Bait Shop at 10:00a.m. Please consider bringing picnic goodies for your family and your free fishing passes to enjoy the lake after we finish our 'work.' Hope to see you there! A special thanks to Alabama Street Club, Dixieline Lumber of La Mesa, and Mr. Conner for their donations, exceptional service, and woodworking talents! And thanks to all the Greenwings for helping build the boxes!
